Ruger, one of Nigeria’s prodigious singers and songwriters, and the head of BlownBoy Entertainment, has set the music scene ablaze with his latest Can’t-stop-playing project titled “R.U. (Raw & Unfiltered), Vol. 1.”
The EP has twelve songs fans will enjoy the most. With the quality of the songs on the project, fans and lovers of good music will surely want to add it to their playlist.This remarkable project contains six carefully made tracks that show another side of Ruger as an artist. Instead of focusing only on his usual bold style, he also opens up about love, relationships, personal feelings, and his faith. The EP gives listeners a better understanding of his thoughts while still delivering the spine-chilling sound that has made him one of Nigeria’s most popular Afrobeats artists.
The project opens with “She Don’t Like Men,” where Ruger tells a different kind of relationship story. On “All Die,” he sings about being ready to do whatever it takes for the person he loves, while “Loved at Home” talks about finding peace and happiness with someone who truly accepts him. The closing track, “Jesus Loves Me,” is a heartfelt song of gratitude that also reflects his faith.
Track three, “Private Chef,” features talented South African singer and performer MC Morena, whose contribution adds more flavor to the song. Track four, “Do Nothing,” features popular South African singer, songwriter, and producer Musa Keys, alongside award-winning South African singer and performer Young Stunna, one of the leading voices in South Africa’s Amapiano music scene.
The remaining tracks, “She Don’t Like Men,” “All Die,” “Loved at Home,” and “Jesus Loves Me,” have no featured artists, giving Ruger the chance to showcase his talent, creativity, and songwriting skills on his own throughout the project.
The entire EP was placed under the creative direction of highly skilled Nigerian record producer Kukbeatz, who served as the executive producer and also produced all six tracks. The songs were then mixed and carefully refined by talented sound engineer MillaMix.
