Popular Nigerian singer and Rasaki Music boss L.A.X steals the spotlight with his latest attention-grabbing fifth studio album titled “The Only Lover Boy Left (TOLBL).”

The new album takes a special direction in L.A.X’s music career, as it draws inspiration from his love life and recent marriage to his longtime girlfriend, Emmanuella. His interest in love has been part of his music from the beginning, dating back to his 2013 breakout single “Caro,” which featured Nigerian superstar Wizkid. Years later, the singer has taken that same interest in romance into a new chapter of his life, and it plays a major role in the ideas behind this latest body of work.

Building on the success of his 2025 fourth studio album, “Nobody Like Zaza,” a 13-track project that featured several well-known Nigerian artists, L.A.X returns with another collection of songs that puts love at the centre of attention. His previous album featured talented acts such as Taves, Ayo Maff, Fireboy DML, Pheelz, Niniola, DJ Rosco, Ajebo Hustlers, Clemzy, BhadBoi OML, Joeboy, Magicsticks, and Young Jonn.

“The Only Lover Boy Left (TOLBL)” contains 12 tracks and features four talented Nigerian artists. Among them is fast-rising singer JaQi, who appears on track 2, “Owa.” Popular Nigerian singer Tml Vibez joins him on track 4, “MAGAA,” while skilled alternative singer DOTTi The Deity makes an appearance on track 6, “IYAWO.” The guest list also includes award-winning Nigerian rapper and YBNL Nation boss Olamide, who appears on track 11, “Belinda.”

Across the album, L.A.X shares different thoughts about love, affection, romance, and the good things that come with being in love. Songs like “Morenike” find him expressing how much his lover means to him, while “Saint Tropez” takes a romantic direction with a promise of a special trip. On “MAGAA,” he teams up with Tml Vibez for a song that tells a story around love and luxury. He also works with DOTTi The Deity on “IYAWO,” a guitar-led song where the two singers exchange lines in Yoruba, English, and Pidgin. Another interesting track is “Arewa,” which comes with a different musical direction, while “FINE WINE” closes the album with a special mention of the woman who inspired much of its direction.

The album also includes some familiar releases that fans may have heard before its arrival. These include “MAGAA” and “FINE WINE.” His previous single “IYAWO,” produced by talented Nigerian record producer INANA, also makes the tracklist as the sixth song on the album. The production of “Belinda” was handled by skilled producer Ragee, while Magicsticks was responsible for the production of “FINE WINE.”

Sometimes, the most interesting part of following music is seeing the different songs artists choose to share with their audience. This latest release is another title to add to your list of recent music, especially if you enjoy keeping up with the work of different acts. Give it a listen and let your personal taste do the talking.
